Upgrading Your Home? Start With Your Electrical Panel!

- 10:30 am - February 6th, 2019

Upgrading things in your home can be exciting! You might upgrade your television for better entertainment, your heating equipment for better comfort, and your dishwasher for a better clean – but, have you thought about upgrading your electrical panel? More often than not, homeowners won’t think much about the electrical panel. That is, until they run into one of many potential issues, including:

  • Faulty wiring. Some warning signs of faulty wiring include flickering or dimming lights, slight shock or tingling sensation when touching appliances, and sparking or discolored outlets.

  • Installing new appliances with amperages higher than what your panel allows for. This will require an upgrade in order for the equipment to operate safely, but also to keep you and your family safe.

  • Using too many power strips or extension cords. With an upgraded panel, you can add new outlets on new circuits to remove the risk of overloading a circuit with extension cords and power strips.

Upgrading your home can be fun – but it’s important to do it safely, too! With a properly sized and updated electrical panel, your home will have enough room for all the new electronics and appliances you might bring in at a future date, and you’ll be better protected from any electrical hazards. If you have any questions about the state of your panel, or you’re in need of an upgrade, contact us online today!
