The Importance of a Full Ultra Heating Oil Storage Tank

- 5:16 pm - May 21st, 2021

When the temperatures are low it’s pretty clear why a full tank of Ultra Heating Oil is important for your Hampton Roads home. After all, who doesn’t want a reliable supply of the fuel they use to heat their homes?

However, did you know that keeping your tank full, even during the spring and summer, can impact your winter comfort, too? It’s true!  And it has nothing to do with how much you’ll be using your heating equipment during the warmer months (because you won’t be!) instead it has to do with maintaining the integrity of your system for future use.

You should keep your tank full during the spring and summer because…

  • Empty space in a storage tank can lead to water accumulation caused by condensation

  • Water accumulation can then lead to sediment build up inside the tank

  • Sediment build up can cause the interior of the tank to corrode and rust, but the sediment can also be drawn into the heating equipment and damage it

  • When the next heating season rolls around you’ll have to deal with potentially extensive and expensive repairs to get your heating system up and running again

How can you ensure a full tank? You could do it the old-school way and place an order for one last Ultra Heating Oil delivery. Or, you can become an automatic delivery customer and never worry about placing order for fuel again!

Not only will your tank stay full, but your equipment will work properly – provided that you’ve kept up with regular maintenance – next heating season. Be sure to keep your storage tank full by calling and placing one final delivery or enrolling in automatic delivery for a hands-off approach.
